Guy Gibbons

Guy is a law graduate of the Queensland Institute of Technology and has over 21 years experience in Litigation, Estates, Commercial and Property Law, along with proven accounting and managerial experience. As the firm's Chief Executive Officer, Guy has extensive knowledge in finance and investment, both as a member of the firm and as a private investor. He also has vast experience in leasing and in the sale and purchase of businesses. Guy is a Director of a number of private enterprises in the Child Care and Accommodation industries, offering clients experience well beyond the law. He is well known in the media as the original Solicitor on the ABC "Legal Talk Back Show".

Peter Jenkins

Peter is the firm's General Manager and overseas the business activities of the practice for maximum efficiency. He is actively involved with clients on a day-to-day basis and is also the initial point of contact for the firm's Maximum pricing policy service. Peter is also responsible for the BCS Customer Care Program liaising with clients, large and small to ensure their satisfaction.

Warren Tegg

Warren was admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Qld and the High Court of Australia in 1979. He ran his own legal practice specialising in Family Law and Business Advice from 1980 until 2001 before merging with Bennett Carroll. Warren has been helping people with their Family Law problems since the inception of the Family Law Act in 1976.

Warren is Department Head with the Family Law division of Bennett Carroll. He brings to the Department a wealth of experience that includes some five years running his own call centre for people with Family Law problems, as well as acting as a sessional mediator with Relationships Australia Qld from 1989 to 1994. He is also the General Manager of the Master Guidance Company, which is a counselling service owned by Bennett Carroll.

Warren has served on a number of Queensland Law Society committees during his career and is currently a member the Small Practice Management division where he has been called upon to speak at State conferences on legal practice.

Kate Murphy

Originally from Northern NSW, Kate studied at Queensland University of Technology graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business. She has a strong interest in Family Law, which extends to international law relating to marriage and children. Kate was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2006 and will be admitted to the High Court of Australia in Early 2007. Kate has over 4 years extensive experience in Family Law, as well as engaging in Criminal and Commercial Law. Kate has also had the benefit of being trained with Pauline Tesler, with a strong focus on negotiation. Kate is a member of the Queensland young lawyers association.

Susan Isaac

Susan holds degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Queensland and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1982. She is also an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law. Throughout her years of practice in both large city firms and small suburban firms Susan has specialised in all areas of personal injury law particularly on behalf of injured Plaintiffs.

Fran Hayes

Fran Hayes is the office manager as well as the senior consultant to our conveyancing team. She has had over 30 years experience in conveyancing and has been with Bennett Carroll for 25 years. Fran has a strong rapport with many of our clients and they just keep coming back. She prides herself on quality service and going the extra mile for her clients every time.

Joanne Bennett

Joanne graduated from Deakin University before completing her Professional Legal Training at Bond University in 2003 and was admitted in December that year. Joanne is an experienced family lawyer and can offer professional assistance and guidance in all types of family law matters including those involving children and financial issues, defacto relationships, pre-nuptials and parental orders. Joanne also has extensive Commercial Law experience in vital areas such as property, company structures, franchise agreements, join venture agreements and leases.

Peter Dewar

Peter joined BCS in 2007 as our Director of Sales & Marketing. Peter has a strong marketing and senior management background and his forte is successfully developing businesses and maintaining long business relationships. Peter is a great believer in the power of the business planning process, but always with a firm eye on its real world application.

Spencer Slasberg

Spencer has been with the firm since the start of 2007. He graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a degree in Media Studies in 2001 with a focus on production and analysis. In 2007 he graduated from QUT again with his Bachelor of Laws. Spencer works in our commercial and property departments but also does work in our criminal and estates areas as well.

Justin Twigg

Justin is a graduate of Griffith University where he received an honours degree in Law and a degree in Commerce. He also has a Master of Laws in Law and Information Technology. Admitted in 2002, he specializes in Litigation, Wills and Estates. Outside of practice, he is the current President of Queensland Young Lawyers and a regular volunteer at Caxton Legal Centre, a community based legal centre which provides free legal advice. In his spare time, which is scant, he plays bass guitar.
